HAMDEN, Conn. - Providence College fell to Quinnipiac, 3-1 (26-30, 15-30, 30-25, 25-30) in a non-conference volleyball match on Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at Bert Kahn Court in Hamden, Conn.

With the loss, the Friars fall to 2-16 on the season. Quinnipiac improves to 6-8 overall.

Sophomore Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) notched 18 kills on 40 total attempts for a hitting percentage of .225 to lead Providence. Freshman Katie Fleming (Cary, N.C) led the Friar defense with a match-high 11 digs and added 11 kills to aid the offense.

Quinnipiac's Heather Wollyung had a match-high 27 kills on 45 total attempts for a .467 hitting percentage and posted a team-high 10 digs.

Providence will return to their home court at Alumni Hall's Mullaney Gymnasium on Wednesday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. against Central Connecticut.
