NEW BRITAIN, CONN. -- The Providence College volleyball team defeated Central Connecticut State University, 3-1, on Wednesday, September 26 in New Britain, Conn. The win was the second for the Friars was just the second victory of the season and snapped a seven-consecutive match losing streak.

PC senior outside hitter Sarah Katinger (Stratford, Conn.) led all players with a match-high 22 kills. She added a match-high 23 digs and two aces. Classmate Annie Cella (Burr Ridge, Ill.) added 21 kills for the Friars (2-9 overall) in the win and added 18 digs. Freshman middle blocker Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) chipped in with 19 kills, two aces, three digs and a career-high five blocks.

The Friars look to run the winning ways to two matches when they host Rutgers University on Saturday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m. in a BIG EAST Conference match.
