PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team went 1-2 this weekend as they participated in a tournament at Sacred Heart. The Friars, now 6-8 on the season, defeated tournament host Sacred Heart, 3-0 but fell to Columbia, 3-0 and Wagner, 3-2.

Sophomore Sara Sheehan had a game-high 33 setting assists in the 3-0 victory over Sacred Heart. Sophomore Jeanette Toney contributed eight kills and five blocks as the Friars won in three straight 30-27, 31-29, 30-27.

PC dropped to Columbia, 3-0 by the scores of 30-19, 30-18, 30-27. The Friars were led by Toney who had six kills to go along with three solo blocks and one blocking assist.

In the Friars' final game of the tournament, they were defeated in five games 3-2 by Wagner College. Sara Sheehan had another splendid game with 46 setting assists. Toney had another solid blocking performance finishing the game with four solo blocks and three blocking assists. Junior Srah Fleming had a team high 15 kills in the loss.
