HANOVER, N.H. - The Providence College volleyball team fell to Dartmouth, 3-1, on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Dartmouth Invitational in Hanover, N.H. Junior Annie Russian(Round Rock, Texas) led the Friars with 11 kills. The Friars move to 5-7 on the year.
Providence opened the match with a 25-23 victory over the Big Green in the first set.
Dartmouth went on to win the next three sets (25-15,25-21,25-20). Danielle Glinka led Dartmouth with a team-best nine kills. Four of Dartmouth's players finished with double-digits in the dig column.
Sophomore setter Jordan Wiesler finished the match with 44 assists. Wiesler and freshman Michelle Cruz(Midland Park, N.J.) combined for 31 digs with 16 and 15 digs, respectively. Wiesler was named to the Dartmouth Invitational All-Tournament Team following PC's match.
Providence returns to action on Friday, Sept. 20 when the Friars host St. Francis (N.Y.) in the opening match of the Ninth Annual Friar Classic. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I.
