MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- The Providence College volleyball team was defeated in two games at the Robert Morris Classic on Friday, September 13 in Moon Township, Pa. In PC's first match of the tournament, the Friars lost to Binghamton, 3-0. In the squad's second match, host Robert Morris defeated the Friars, 3-1.

In the loss to Binghamton, Providence was defeated by the scores of 30-17, 30-24 and 30-23. Sophomore Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) had a team-high eight kills for the Friars. Providence lost its second game to Robert Morris by the scores of 30-18, 30-22, 23-30 and 30-13. Freshman Katie Fleming (Cary, N.C.) tied for a match-high with 13 kills. Senior Sandy Fanning (East Amherst, N.Y.) also added 12 kills for the Friars.

Providence, 0-9, will return to action on Saturday, September 14 for two games at the Robert Morris Classic against Cornell at 1:00 p.m. and Howard at 5:00 p.m.
