PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Holy Cross defeated Providence College, 3-1, in volleyball action at Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I. on Tuesday, September 10.

With the loss, the Friars drop to 0-7 on the season. Holy Cross improves to 2-3 overall.

The Friars were defeated in the first two games, 28-30 and 19-30, but rallied to take the third, 30-27. Providence led most of the fourth game, including a 28-25 advantage, but were unable to sustain the momentum as the Crusaders mounted a comeback to take the 28-30 win and the match.

Holy Cross' Caitlin Agostinacchio led the Crusaders with a match-high 19 digs and team-high 14 kills.

Freshman Katie Fleming (Cary, N.C.) notched a match-high 17 kills and a team-high 17 digs for the Friars.

Providence returns to action on Friday, Sept. 13 at 4:00 p.m. versus Binghamton at the Colonial Classic hosted by Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pa.
