The Providence College volleyball team beat Quinnipiac, 3-0, in the Friars’ final match of the Maine Tournament on Saturday, September 6. PC won with game scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-22. With the victory, the Friars move to 4-4 on the season, while the Bobcats fall to 1-6.

Senior Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) paced the team with 10 kills and added five total blocks. Toney’s block total moved her past Jocelyn Cole and into third place on PC’s all-time list with 350 for her career. Defensively, senior Kelly Krahenbuhl (Larkspur, Colo.) posted a season-high 23 digs and now has 105 on the year. Senior Sarah Sheehan (West Chester, Pa.) contributed 28 assists and added nine digs.

The Friars are off until next Friday, when they begin a tournament hosted by Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. PC’s first match in the tournament is on Friday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m. against the Crusaders. The Friars won the teams’ first matchup, 3-0, on September 3 in Providence.
