HARTFORD, Conn. - The Providence College volleyball team made it two consecutive victories at the Hartford Invitational on Saturday, September 2, defeating Sacred Heart, 3-0. PC won by game scores of 30-28, 30-23 and 30-26. PC also defeated Holy Cross, 3-1 earlier today.

In the match against Sacred Heart, the Friars had three players with double digits in kills, led by freshman Jess Storer (Wantagh, N.Y.) who had 11 to tie a match-high. Storer also had a match-high 13 digs. Junior Sarah Fleming (St. Paul, Minn.) and sophomore Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) each had 10 kills, while sophomore Sara Sheehan (West Chester, Pa.) recorded a match-high 35 assists.

With the victory, the Friars improved to 2-1, while the Pioneers fell to 1-2. Providence is back in action on Friday, September 8 when they play at Navy.
