Buffalo, N.Y. -- The Providence College Volleyball team swept both Bucknell University, 3-0 (15-11, 15-13, 15-6), and host University of Buffalo, 3-2 (9-15, 15-3, 15-4, 8-15, 15-12) en route to winning the University of Buffalo Invitational on Saturday, September 2.

Against Bucknell, junior Sarah Katinger (Stratford, Conn.) led the Friars with 15 kills, 12 digs and two service aces. Sophomore Susan Fanning (East Amherst, N.Y.) recorded 32 assists versus the Bison.

Katinger paced PC again against Buffalo with 16 kills and 20 digs. Junior Annie Cella (burr Ridge, Ill.) added 12 kills and 21 digs for the Friars. Fanning posted 40 assists for the Black and White.

Providence is now 3-0 overall and returns to action on Tuesday, September 5, when they host Central Connecticut State University for their 2000 home opener. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Alumni Hall.
