Laura Ciummo enters her first season as an assistant coach with the Providence volleyball program. Ciummo is coming off an illustrious playing career as a setter at Rivier College, where she is a member of the prestigious 3,000 assists club. She led the Raiders to two GNAC Championships during her tenure at Rivier. As a senior, Ciummo earned First Team All-GNAC honors and was named the conference's Most Valuable Player. In 2005 as a freshman, Ciummo garned GNAC Rookie of the Year accolades and was a Rookie of the Week selection. A native of Burrillville, R.I., she is the daughter of Ernest and Sheryl Ciummo. Coach Ciummo has an older sister, Erin.
