Providence College's Laura Nagel and Emily Sisson Honored By USTFCCCA

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - On July 25, 2012, Laura Nagel (Napier, New Zealand) and Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.), members of the Providence College women's track and cross country teams, received the Division I All-Academic Award from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association. Nagel and Sisson were two of 680 to receive this award.

The association pursues in athletes that achieve in both athletics and academics. The All-Academic Award requires the student-athletes to have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and other athletic standards. Also, the athlete must rank in the national top-96 in an individual event or be ranked in the national top-48 collective listings, in addition to participating in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships.

For the 2012 All-Academic Awards there were four outstanding athletes that performed higher than the rest. Deborah Maier (California), Bridgetta Barrett (Arizona), Abbey D'Agostino (Dartmouth), and Brittany Borman (Oklahoma) were recognized as top of their class and performed all requirements.
