PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's track team competed at the 2005 NCAA Track & Field Championships in Sacramento, Calif. on June 8-10 and finished tied for 29th overall. The Friars were led by senior Mary Cullen (Sligo, Ireland), who finished third in the 10,000 meters (33:12.32), and junior Fiona Crombie (Christchurch, New Zealand), who placed sixth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (10:08.36). Both runners earned All-America honors for their performances. For Head Coach Ray Treacy it marked the third and fourth All-America accolades that his women's runners earned this year. Crombie and senior Kim Smith (Auckland, New Zealand) each received All-America honors in November at the NCAA Cross Country Championship.

In 21 seasons as a head coach at Providence, Treacy's men's and women's athletes have earned 113 All-America honors.
