GAINESVILLE, FLA. - The Providence College men's and women's track teams competed at the NCAA East Regional Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Friday May 25 at James G. Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Fla.

On the first day of competition, Max Smith won the men's 1,500 meter prelims with a time of 3:42.73. His time set an East Regional record in the event, previously set by Tom Parlapiano of Villanova in 2003 (3:42.93).

On the women's side, Meghan Owen placed 24th in the women's 1,500 meter prelims with a time of 4:32.19. In the 5,000 meter final, Aine Hoban led a trio of Providence runners with a fourth place finish in a time of 16:16.05. Katie DiCamillo finished ninth in the 5,000 with a time of 16:29.56. Danette Doetzel rounded out the list of Providence runners with a 13th place finish in a time of 16:36.62.
