The Providence College men's and women's outdoor track teams competed at the Brown Invitational on Sunday, April 29. The Friar men's squad was led by senior Nick Weidman (Sudbury, Mass.) who placed third in the 1,500 meters qualifying for the BIG EAST and New England Championships. The women's team was led by senior Meghan Owen (Danielson, Conn.) who finished second in the 1,500 meters qualifying for the NCAA Regionals.

Weidman finished the 1,500 meters in a time of 3:52.19. The 4x400 relay team comprised of junior James Lourenco (West Warwick, R.I.) (49.5), Alan Pandiani (51.7), sophomore Charles Dewey (Worcester, Mass.) (47.7), and sophomore Nick Berluti (Westwood, Mass.) (53.9) finished in second place with a combined time of 3:23.45.

Owen ran to second place in the 1,500 meter race in a time of 4:27.18. Teammate's sophomore Katie DiCamillo (Garden City, N.Y.) (4:31.99), freshman Breffini Twohig (Dublin, Ireland) (4:34.17), and freshman Krystal Douglas (Harpswell, Maine) (4:37.04) rounded out the top five, respectively.
 

 

Both teams will return to action Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6 at the BIG EAST Championships.
