PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College senior Mary Cullen (Sligo, Ireland) led the women's track team at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif. on April 15 as she placed second in the 10,000 meter invitational in a time of 32:57.61 to qualify for the NCAA Championship. Her time of 32:57.61 is the fastest collegiate time run this year and also a Providence College record. Cullen broke Kim Smith's record of 33:45.81 set last year at the BIG EAST Championship.

Cullen, a three-time All-American, will be running in her first NCAA Outdoor Track Championship since she placed fifth in the 5,000 at the 2003 Championship. She did not compete last spring due to an injury.

The NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held on June 8-11 in Sacramento, Calif.
