The Providence College men's and women's outdoor track teams competed at the Mt. Sac Relays on Friday, April 13. The Friar men's squad was led by junior Max Smith (Dunedin, New Zealand) who placed second in the 1,500 meters, while senior Meghan Owen (Danielson, Conn.) led the women's squad with a twenty-fourth place finish in the 1,500 meter run.

Smith ran the 1,500 meters in 3:41.64 nearly missing a first place finish by one second. Freshman Hayden McLaren (Christchurch, New Zealand) finished ninth in the 1,500 meters clocking in at 3:45.67. Junior Ahmed Haji (West Hartford, Conn.) placed fourteenth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 29:38.12.

Owen finished the 1,500 meter run in a time of 4:33.02. Freshman Krystal Douglas (Harswell, Maine) 17:43.71 and junior Michelle Childs (Cameron, Ont.) 17:43.88 placed twenty-sixth and twenty-seventh, respectively in the 5,000 meters.

Both the men's and women's teams are back in action on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the UConn Invitational.
