The Providence College men's and women's outdoor track teams competed at the Quinnipiac Quad Meet ran at Yale University, on Wednesday, April 4. The Friar men's squad was led by senior Nick Weidman (Sudbury, Mass.) who captured the 800 meters, while freshman Krystal Douglas (Harpswell, Maine) led the women's squad with a first place finish in the mile.

Weidman won the 800 meters in a time of 2:00.21. Junior Ahmed Haji (West Hartford, Conn.) captured the mile in 4:41.43. Sophomore Charlie Dewey (Worcester, Mass.) captured the 200 meters in a time of 23.31. Freshman Tom Webb (Barrington, R.I.) won the 2,000 meter steeplechase in 6:17.13.

Douglas took the mile in a time of 5:12.18. Senior Meghan Owen (Danielson, Conn.) captured the 3,000 meters in a time of 10:09.40. Sophomore Katie Elliot (Penfield, N.Y.) finished second at 2:18.33 in the 800 meter run.

The men's team defeated Iona 65-37, but fell to Quinnipiac 59-54. The women's team defeated Iona 50-38, but fell to Quinnipiac 59-43.

Both the men's and women's teams are back in action on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif.
