FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Junior Roisin McGettigan (Wicklow, Ireland) represented the Providence College women's indoor track team at the 2002 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, on March 9 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

McGettigan earned a fifth-place finish in the mile with a time of 4:42.95, and earned All-America honors for her performance as a top-eight finisher. It is the first time in McGettigan's career that she has earned All-America recognition. She joins Geraldine Hendricken, Amy Rudolph and Siobhan Gallagher, who have each earned All-America honors in the mile run at the NCAA Indoor Track Championship during their time at Providence College. Hendricken and Rudolph are two-time All-America selections in the event.

McGettigan and the Friars will begin the outdoor track season at the Raleigh Relays on March 29th and 30th, in Raleigh, N.C.
