PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College senior track stand-out Mary Cullen (Sligo, Ireland) has been named the NCAA Division I Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year for the Northeast Region. It was announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Thursday, March 9.

Cullen enters this weekend's NCAA Indoor Track Championship with the fastest times in the country in the 3,000 and 5,000 meter events. Cullen posted a time of 9:01.33 in the 3,000 meters and finished the 5,000 meters in a time of 15:39.43.

Cullen begins pursuit of her first NCAA title on March 10-11 at the NCAA Indoor Track Championship at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.
