PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men'a and women's indoor track teams opened the 2004-05 season on December 4. The men competed at Alden Invitational at Brown University, while the women participated in the Five Way Meet at Boston University.

The men's squad had four first-place finishes, led by senior Patrick Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) who won the mile run in a time of 4:21.16. Classmate Liam Reale (Hospital, Ireland) took the 800 meters in a time of 1:53.22, while junior Joe Dionne (Oshawa, Ontario) captured the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:44.53. Freshman Matt Licari (Amityville, N.Y.) won the 1,000 meters in time of 2:36.86. Providence also had two second-place finsihes as junior Richard Jones (Wellington, New Zealand) was a runner-up in the 500 meters and Ben Pollock took second-place in the 3,000 meters.

The Providence women were led by senior Roisin Quinn (Waterford, Ireland), who won the 1,000 meters in a time of 2:53.27.

Both Friar squads are back in action on Saturday, December 11 at the Harvard Invitational.
