PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College senior Roisin McGettigan (Wicklow, Ireland) concluded her collegiate career on Friday, June 13 when she finished third in the finals of 3,000 meter steeplechase at the 2003 NCAA Outdoor Track Championships at California State University in Sacramento, Calif. The steeplechase was won by Kassi Andersen of Brigham Young, who ran the race in 9:44.95.

McGettigan ran the 3,000-meter course in a career best time of 9:50.12. With her third-place finish she earned her second consecutive All-America honor in the steeplechase and her second All-America honor in 2003 (indoor mile). It also marks the fourth All-America accolade of her career.

The final Friar to compete at the NCAA Outdoor Track Championship will race on Saturday, June 14 when sophomore Mary Cullen (Sligo, Ireland) will run the 5,000 meter finals at 11:40 p.m. EST.
