Roisin McGettigan Finishes 8th In The Steeplechase At NCAA Championship And Earns All-America Honors

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Providence College junior Roisin McGettigan (Wicklow, Ireland) finished eighth in the finals of the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, June 1 in Baton Rouge, La. McGettigan finished the race in a personal best time of 10:08.24 and earned All-America accolades. The race was won by Michaela Manova of BYU, who outran the other 11 competitors in a time of 9:45.94.

For McGettigan, it marked her second All-America honor this year as she earned All-America accolades after finishing fifth in mile at the 2002 NCAA Indoor Track Championship in March.
