Track Concludes Season At NCAA Championship on June 1

EUGENE, Ore. -- Providence College sophomore Brooke Freeburg (Waterford, Pa.) finished 14th in the javelin throw at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, June 1 in Eugene, Ore. For the PC men's team, junior Paul Reilly (Loughrea, Ireland) competed in the 5,000 meters, but did not finish the race.

Freeburg had here best throw of the day on her first toss, which went 43.91 meters to place her 14th of 21 competitors. The javelin toss was won by Inga Stasiulionyte of USC, who had a throw of 52.52 meters.

Freeburg and Reilly were the final two athletes to compete for the Friars at the 2001 NCAA Outdoor Track Championships.
