Women's Track Competes At NCAA Championship On Thursday, May 30

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Providence College junior Brooke Freeburg (Waterford, Pa.) finished 19th in the javelin throw at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday, May 30 in Baton Rouge, La. Freeburg's best throw was 44.00 meters.

Providence junior Roisin McGettigan (Wicklow, Ireland) also competed on Thursday. She ran in the preliminaries of the 3,000 meter steeplechase. McGettigan placed second in her heat in a time of 10:11.23 and will run in the finals of the steeplechase on Saturday, June 1 at 10:10 p.m. EST.
