PROVIDENCE, R.I. -
The Providence College women's track and field team competed at the Brown Springtime Invitational today (April 27). The Friars saw senior Erin Murphy (Easton, Mass.) take first in the 5000 meter run as well as three other runners run personal-best performances.
Murphy ran a time of 17:33.15 to win the 5000 meter run, with the next fastest finisher crossing the line at 18:12.48.
In the 400 meter run, juniors Taylor Corder (Corinth, Miss.) and Kelsey Dermody (Norton, Mass.) captured PRs after finishing second and fourth, respectively. Corder was second with a time of 59.27, while Dermody was fourth in a time of 59.98.
Sophomore Molly Keating (Rehoboth, Mass.) ran an ECAC Championship qualifying time of 2:10.71 to earn second in the 800 meter run.
In the mile run, sophomore Katie Sischo (Jamesville, N.Y.) and senior Elizabeth DeVivo (Riverside, Conn.) went third and fourth, respectively. Sischo finished third in a time of 5:06.21, while DeVivo ran a personal-best time of 5:10.37.
Sophomore Lauren Mullins and freshman Kellin Hollowood (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) competed in the 3000 meter run, where the two each placed within the top-three. Mullins was second with a time of 9:57.03, while Hollowood crossed at 10:15.72.
The Friars are back in action with the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational on May 4 in Palo Alto, Calif.
