WALNUT, Calif. -- The Providence College women's track team competed at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif. on April 19-20. All five Friars who competed in the meet qualified for the ECAC Championship.

Juniors Roisin McGettigan (Wicklow, Ireland) and Emer O'Shea (Limerick, Ireland) each placed 10th in their heats in the 1,500 meters. McGettigan finished in a time of 4:25.25 and O'Shea ran in a time of 4:30.51.

In the 5,000 meters, senior Kathryn Casserly (Galway, Ireland) placed 15th (17:06.65) and senior Heather Cappello (Lockport, N.Y.) was 16th (17:12.14).

Junior Brooke Freeburg (Waterford, Pa.) placed third in the javelin with a throw of 44.85 meters.
