WALNUT, Calif. -- The Providence College men's and women's track teams competed at the Mt. Sac Relays on Thursday, April 13 in Walnut, Calif.

The men's team was led by senior Martin Fagan (Mullingar, Ireland) who finished 13th in the 5,000 in the Invitational University/Open Division in a time of 13:39.62 to qualify for the NCAA Regionals. Senior Richard Jones (Wellington, New Zealand) also ran a strong race for the Friars, finishing sixth in the 800 meters University Open Division. With his time of 1:51.45, Jones qualified for the BIG EAST Championship.

On the women's side, senior Mary Cullen (Sligo, Ireland) finished fourth in the 5,000 meter Invitational University Open Division in a time of 15:41.93 to qualify for the NCAA Regionals. Freshman Katie DiCamillo (Garden City, N.Y.) also ran the 5,000 meters in the University Open Division in a time of 16:41.60 to qualify for NCAA Regionals. Graduate student Aine Hoban (Wakefield, England) placed 21st in the 5,000 (16:48.07) to qualify for the BIG EAST Championship. Senior Roisin Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) finished 17th in the 800 meters (2:13.07) and sophomore Mary Trefz (Iowa City, Iowa) placed 15th in the 1,500 meters (4:37.12). Both runners qualified for the BIG EAST Championship.
