Women's Track Places Fourth At Brown Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's track team scored 71 points and finished fourth of seven teams at Brown Invitational in Providence, R.I. on Saturday, April 13.

Junior Roisin McGettigan (Wicklow, Ireland), freshman Mary Cullen (Sligo, Ireland) and junior Brooke Freeburg (Waterford, Pa.) each earned a first-place finish. McGettigan won the 800 meters (2:10.15) and Cullen (4:32.30) captured the 1,500 meters (4:32.20). Both runners qualified for the ECAC Championship. Freeburg won the javelin event with a throw of 45.87 meters and qualified for the BIG EAST Championship.
