Women's Track Competes At The UConn Invitational

STORRS, Conn. -- The Providence College women's track teams competed at the UConn Invitational on Saturday, April 8 in Storrs, Conn. The women's team scored 33 points and finished 7th of 9 teams.

The Friars were led by senior Ashley Jensen (Lincoln, R.I.) who finished third in 3,000 steeplechase in a time of 11:19.20 and qualified for the BIG EAST Championship. Graduate student Roisin Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) also was impressive as she won the 1,500 meters in a time of 4:41.59. The Friars' other top finisher was junior Laura McCarthy (Edina, Minn.) who finished second in the 5,000 in a time of 18:19.48.

Providence College will return to action on Thursday, April 13 at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif.
