Senior Shelby Greany Qualifies For BIG EAST And ECAC Championships In 3000m Steeplechase

    The Providence College outdoor track and field team competed in the Colonial Relays today, April 5 in Williamsburg, Va. Senior Shelby Greany (Suffern, N.Y.) took the women's 3000 meter steeplechase run with a meet best time of 10:23.62. With her time, Greany qualified for the BIG EAST Championships and the ECAC Championships.

    The Friars are set to compete in four more events before the conclusion of the meet today. On the men's side freshmen Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand) and Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, England) are schedule to run at 7:35 p.m. in the 1500 meter run. In the 5000 meter run freshman Sarah Mary Collins (Basel, Switzerland), juniors Laura Nagel (Napier, New Zealand) and Erin Murphy (Easton, Mass.), and senior Sam Roecker (Charlton, N.Y.) will represent the women at 7:55 p.m. Sophomore Liam Hillery (Smithfield, R.I.) will run for the men in the 5000 meter run at 8:40 p.m., while sophomore Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) and senior Ahmed Ali (Boston, Mass.) will compete in the final event of the day, the men's 10,000 meter run at 10:00 p.m.
