Women's Track Runs At Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Providence College women's track team competed at the Raleigh Relays at NC State in Raleigh, N.C. on March 31-April 1.

The Friars' 4 x 1,500 meter team captured the race in a time of 18:19.77. PC's 4 x 800 meter relay team also ran a strong race, placing third in a time of 9:00.01.

PC sophomore Kathryn Casserly (Galway, Ireland) was the team's top finisher as she placed eighth in the 3,000 meters (9:51.90). Senior Dana Ostrander (Ballston Lake, N.Y), junior Francine Darroch (Cambridge, Ontario) and sophomore Carolyn Turco (Danvers, Mass.) also finished strong for the Friars. Ostrander was 27th in the 5,000 (17:36.43) and Darroch was 27th in the 3,000 meters (10:24.62), while Turco finished 28th in the 1,500 meters (4:49.00).
