Sisson finished first in the 3000 meter run with a personal best and ECAC Championship qualifying performance.

BOSTON, Mass. - The Providence College women's indoor track and field team competed at the Boston University Valentine Invitational today (Feb. 7). Providence saw four Friars run personal best performances and a first-place finish in the 3000 meter run.
Senior Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) ran a personal-best time of 9:00.76 in the 3000 meter run to capture first. Sisson was followed by classmate Laura Nagel(Napier, New Zealand), who claimed second with a personal-best time of 9:01.35. Both runners posted ECAC Championship qualifying times with the top-two NCAA performances in the 3000 meter event this season.
Senior Jackie McCarthy(New Rochelle, N.Y.) competed in the 800 meter run, where she finished 14th out of a field of 158 competitors. McCarthy posted a personal-best performance with an ECAC Championship qualifying time of 2:10.50.
In the 1000 meter run, sophomore Molly Keating(Rockville Centre, N.Y.) finished fifth with time of 2:51.86. Keating's performance was a personal best and ECAC Championship qualifying time.
Senior Erin Murphy(Easton, Mass.) finished ninth in the 5000 meter run with an ECAC Championship qualifying time of 16:58.14.
The women return to action when the BIG EAST Championships kick-off on Feb. 21 at 11:00 a.m. The meet with take place in New York, N.Y. at the New York City Armory.
