PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's and women's track teams traveled to New Haven, Conn. to compete at the Giegengack Invitational this past weekend. Graduate student Katie DiCamillo (Garden City, N.Y.) won the 3000m in a time of 9:46.92. Senior Breffini Twohig (Dublin, Ireland) placed fourth in a time of 9:57.84 with senior Krystal Douglas (Harpswell, Maine) right behind at fifth place in 9:57.88.

Senior Amie Schumacher (Wolcott, Conn.) placed fifth in the 1000m in 2:59.86 and junior Emma Perron (West Hartford, Conn.) finished eighth in the mile in 5:03.44.

On the men's side, junior Stephen Hankinson (Summit, N.J.) placed seventh in the 3000m in a time of 8:21.49 and graduate student Alan Pandiani (Shrewsbury, Mass.) finished eighth in the 400m in 50.26.

Up next for the Friars will be the Valentine's Invitational at Boston University on February 12-13. The women will compete on Friday, February 12 and the men will compete on Saturday, February 13. Also next weekend, Samantha Roecker and Shelby Greany will be competing at the US Junior XC Championships in Spokane, Washington on Saturday February 13.
