The Providence College men's and women's indoor track teams competed at the Boston University Quad Meet on Monday, February 5. Sophomore Richard Yeates (Dublin, Ireland) led four first place finishers for the men's squad capturing the 3,000 in a time of 8:32.85. Sophomore Danette Doetzel (Macklin, Sask.) also took first in the 3,000 with a time of 9:39.01. The women's squad finished the meet with three top finishers.

Junior James Lourenco (West Warwick, R.I.) won the 400 meter dash in a time of 50.32. Senior Nick Weidman (Sudbury, Mass.) and junior Ahmed Haji (West Hartford, Conn.) took first and second in the mile run with times of 4:11.82 and 4:13.52, respectively. Sophomore Charlie Dewey (Worcester, Mass.) set a school record in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:03.94 and took second place. Rounding out the top finishers for the men's team was junior Armond Hodge (Trumball, Conn.). Hodge captured the long jump with a distance of 6.44 meters.

Sophomore Katie DiCamillo (Garden City, N.Y.) won the mile run in a time of 4:49.52. Senior Meghan Owen (Danielson, Conn.) was the third Friar to take first, capturing the 800 meter run in 2:13.74.
 

 

Both the men's and women's teams are back in action on Friday, February 9 and Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University.
