    KINGSTON, R.I. - The Providence College women's indoor track and field team competed at the URI Coaches Invitational today (Feb. 1).

    In the 800 meter run, the Friars saw sophomores Molly Keating (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Devyn Pryor (Dartmouth, Mass.) capture second and third place, respectively. Keating posted a time of 2:17.08, while Pryor finished the race in a time of 2:18.16.

    Senior Jackie McCarthy (New Rochelle, N.Y.) took first in the 1000 meter run, with an ECAC qualifying and personal-best time of 2:53.98.

    In the one mile run, Providence captured its second win of the meet. Senior Grace Thek (Melbourne, Australia) finished first with an ECAC qualifying time of 4:58.99.

    Senior Erin Murphy (Easton, Mass.) and sophomore Lauren Mullins (Binghamton, N.Y.) competed in the 3000 meter run, where the two placed first and second, respectively. Murphy finished in a time of 10:06.48, while Mullins crossed the finish line in a time of 10:32.26.

    The Friars also placed second in the distance medley relay with a time of 12:23.22.

    Providence is back in action Friday, Feb. 7 in Boston Mass. at the Valentine Invitational. The meet is set to begin at noon.
