Women's Indoor Track Competes at Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Providence College women's track team competed at the Terrier Classic at Boston University in Boston, Mass. on Saturday, January 27.

The Friars were led by junior Kathryn Casserly (Galway, Ireland), who finished fifth in the mile in a time of 4:57.16.

In the 3,000 meters, senior Rachel Hixson (Media, Pa.), senior Francine Darroch (Cambridge, Ontario) and senior Heather Cappello (Lockport, N.Y.) all ran a strong race. Hixson placed 13th (9:49.41), Darroch was 16th (9:56.06) and Cappello finished 19th (10:02.07)

In the 800 meters, senior Joan Bohlke (Old Saybrook, Conn.) was 10th in a time of 2:16.71.

PC returns to action on February 3 at the URI Quad Meet in Kingston, R.I.
