PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's indoor track team competed at the Women's Challenge Cup at Brown University on Saturday, January 18. Sophomore Roisin Quinn (Waterford, Ireland), senior All-American Roisin McGettigan (Wicklow, Ireland), senior Emer O'Shea (Limerick, Ireland) and junior Lisa Cappello (Lockport, N.Y.) turned in first-place finishes in their respective events.

Quinn won the 500-meter run in a time of 1:19.6, McGettigan took the 800-meter run in a time of 2:11.95, O'Shea captured the mile in a time of 5:04.83 and Cappello won the 3,000-meter run in a time of 10:05.33. Junior Carol Geddes (Seekonk, Mass.) placed fifth in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 10:42.77, while freshman Ashley Jensen (Lincoln, R.I.) was the highest Friar finisher in the 1,000-meter run (7th - 3:17.77).

The Friars return to action on January 24-25 when they compete at the Boston University Invitational.
