Senior Alison Carton Becomes Women's Tennis All-Time Leader in Career Wins

Providence, R.I. -- On October 21, 2000, senior Alison Carton (Millburn, N.J.) became the Providence College women's tennis all-time leader in victories. Carton's first round singles victory at the New England Champsionships versus Fairfield's Alyssa Haddad gave her 70 career victories, surpassing 2000 graduate Jessie LeMasters' record of 69 wins.

After Carton claimed the PC all-time record, she went on to win two more matches and captured the No. 2 singles title at the 2000 New England Tennis Championships.

Carton has compiled a career record of 72-34 in her four years at Providence College. The 1997 graduate of Millburn High School, is the daughter of Bruce and Dianne Carton.

Carton and the Friars will return to action on November 4-7 at the Region I Championships in Williamsburg, Va.
