PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore Hannah Zangari (Saunderstown, R.I.) was named BIG EAST Women's Tennis Player of the Week after helping the Friars to their first BIG EAST victory of the season. It was announced by the league today (April 8).

Zangari went 4-1(singles and doubles combined) over the course of the week, including a singles and doubles victory in the Friars' 6-1 win over Villanova (April 5). In singles, she logged a 6-3, 6-1 win over Villanova's Connor Brewer at the fifth flight and teamed with classmate Alana Prinos (Foxborough, Mass.) at No. 2 doubles as Providence handed Villanova a 6-1 loss.
