Providence Women's Tennis Falls to UNH, 4-3

The Providence College women's tennis team dropped their first match of the season as they were defeated, 4-3, by the University of New Hampshire on Sunday, September 30.

Senior Brooke Rubin (Cranston, R.I.) won, 6-4, 6-3, at the No. 1 spot, while freshman Molly Gilbride (Topsham, Maine) also was victorious at No. 5 singles.

The doubles team of Rubin and Katie Bednar (Marblehead, Mass.) posted an 8-5 victory at the No. 1 spot. With the loss, the Friars fell to 2-1, while the Wildcats improved to 3-1.

The Friars are back in action on Tuesday, October 2 as they travel to Holy Cross.
