Providence Women's Tennis Defeats Central Connecticut, 6-0

The Providence College women's tennis team won all six matches en route to a 6-0 victory over Central Connecticut State, Wednesday September 26.

Senior Brooke Rubin (Cranston, R.I.) opened with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Rose Anderson at No. 1 singles. Erin Haley (Johnston, R.I.), Molly Gilbride (Topsham, Maine) and Nicole Roger (Lowell, Mass.) all posted straight set victories at the No. 2, 3, and 4 spots, respectively.

The doubles team of Katie Lafayette (Norwich, Conn.) and Lindsey Christensen (Northboro, Mass.) posted an 8-0 win over Anderson and Heather McGaughaw. Christensen and Eleana Stayer (Portland, Ore.) also posted an 8-2 doubles victory.

The Friars are back in action on Sunday, September 30 as they travel to New Hampshire.
