Women’s Tennis Falls To Villanova at BIG EAST Championships, 4-0

The Providence College women’s tennis team took on Villanova in the 2017 BIG EAST Women's Tennis Championships Presented by Jeep, on Thursday, April 27 at the Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center in Cayce, S.C. The No. 10 seed Friars were outpaced the No. 7 Wildcats, 4-0. 

The Friars dropped the No. 1 and 3 doubles spots, giving the Wildcats an early 1-0 lead. The Wildcats went on to win the third, sixth, and second singles matches in straight sets to clinch the match.

The Friars will now move to the consolation portion of the bracket to face Butler on Friday, April 28 at 4 p.m. The Bulldogs, who entered the championships as the No. 9 seed, lost a first-round match to eighth-seeded Creighton.
