Providence Tennis Falls to Fairfield

The Providence College tennis team traveled to Fairfield, Conn. on Thursday, April 9 to take on the Fairfield University Stags. The Friars dropped their seventh-straight match, falling to the Stags, 6-1.

Providence's only point of the day came from junior Jen Cusack (Bayport, N.Y.). Cusack won in the No. 5 singles position, defeating Fairfield's Gabriela Davila, 6-4, 7-6, 8-6. The Friars won one doubles match, as sophomore Ayushi Sinha (Mumbai, India) and senior Meghan Gilroy (Fairfield, Conn.) took the No. 1 doubles spot, 8-6.

The Friars return to action on Wednesday, April 15 when they travel to Worcester, Mass. to take on Holy Cross. Matches are set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
