The Providence College women's tennis team defeated Wagner University, 4-2, on Tuesday, March 11, in Bermuda.

In singles action, Providence's No. 1 freshman Cheri Lapane (Reading, Mass.) defeated Jenny Luduigsen in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. PC's No. 2, freshman Sara Bitetti (Norwell, Mass.) fell to Gina Gelardo in a tie-breaker, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6. PC's No. 3, sophomore Molly Gilbride (Topsham, Maine) defeated Jessica Klett in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Providence's No. 4, sophomore Lindsey Christensen (Northboro, Mass.) defeated Jena Roberts in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. Sophomore Nicole Rodger (Lowell, Mass.) defeated Lisha Tejeda in the No. 5 spot by the score of, 6-2, 6-0. In the final singles slot PC's No. 6 Katie Viola (South Hadley, Mass.) was defeated by Jen Hamilton, 6-4, 6-4.
