Women's Tennis Takes Down Saint Peter's To Open Spring Schedule

The Providence College Women's Tennis team opened their spring season today, Feb. 2nd, with a 7-0 victory over Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, N.J. The Friars took advantage of their short handed opponents in a dominant performance.

 
Senior Katie Marvin won a hard fought match in singles No. 2 with a 6-1, 4-6 (10-5) score, while sophomore Emily Collins comfortably secured the point in singles No. 5: 6-0, 6-1. In doubles No. 2, freshmen Sera Satkowski and Grace Goyette competed for a 6-1 victory.
 
After the match, head coach Jakob Klaeson said he was "happy to get the season underway and see Emily get her first singles win for Providence. We're looking forward to another opportunity to play good tennis tomorrow. It will be a good test for us against a good team."
 
The Friars conclude their weekend road trip on Sunday, Feb. 4th, in Albany, N.Y. as they take on Siena College.
