    Final Stats

    BALTIMORE, Md. - The Providence College swimming and diving teams won nine of 25 events in their first road meet of the season, Friday evening at the Mangione Aquatic Center in Maryland. The PC women (1-1) won seven events, but lost by the score of 133.5-108.5.

    Leading the way for the Friars was junior Annie Nemeth (Pittsburgh, Pa.) who won two events. Nemeth won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:15.47. She also won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:20.92. Nemeth also was a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished first with a time of 1:55.97.

    Junior Katelyn Flynn (Sinking Spring, Pa.) won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.49 and also was a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished first with a time of 1:55.97.

    Sophomore Jessica McCarthy (West Hurley, N.Y.) won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:10.59, while freshman Blair Flynn (Middletown, R.I.) won the 100-yard backstroke with an impressive time of 1:01.89, a mere 0.11 ahead of Loyola's Chelsea Brace. Flynn also finished second in the 200-yard IM, behind Nemeth, with a time of 2:16.63, and third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.51.

    Providence swimming returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 2. PC will travel to Rhode Island for a 6:00 p.m. meet.
