PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Providence College senior Lee Barnum (Hyde Park, N.Y.) finished 18th in the 100 meter butterfly at the ECAC Swimming and Diving Championships.

Barnum finished in 59.48, breaking the one-minute mark for the first time in this event after trying to complete the even in under a minute in the last eight years of training and competing.

Barnum is one of two members of the Providence College women's swimming and diving team who are competing at the 2002 ECACs. Barnum swims in the 200 meter butterfly on Saturday as well.

Providence College sophomore Kathryn Donovan (Simi Valley, Calif.) was the third Friar to qualify for the ECAC Championships, but she chose not to compete.
