Softball Coach Kerri Jacklets Receives BIG EAST Conference Professional Development Aid

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The BIG EAST Conference announced that Providence College head coach Kerri Jacklets was one of eight coaches and administrators to receive Professional Development Aid as part of the BIG EAST Professional Development Grant for Women and Ethnic Minorities Program. The program, which is in its fourth year of existence, provides funds for professional development to the league's coaches and administrators. Recipients of the award had to successfully complete the nomination and application process, including a required personal statement. Among the seminars, programs, conferences and workshops that this year's recipients will be attending include the NCAA Women's Coaching Academy, NSCAA Permier National Coaching Course, Athletic Business Conference & Expo, Association of Luxury Suite Directors Convention, NACWAA HERS Convention, Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, NACWAA Leadership Enhancement Institute and the Black Coaches Association Convention & Expo. Jacklets in her fifth season as head coach at Providence, where she has guided her team to two appearances in the BIG EAST Tournament.
