PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College senior catcher Rachel Bartholomew (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) was named to the Northeast All-Region Softball First Team on Wednesday. Bartholomew, who also was named to the first team last season, becomes the first Friar ever to garner two Northeast All-Region first team accolades.

Bartholomew, who earned All-BIG EAST first team honors last week, led the Friars in numerous offensive categories this past season, including batting average (.391), hits (59), doubles (11), home runs (11), RBIs (41), slugging percentage (.682) and on-base percentage (.446). In addition, she holds several school records. She ranks first at PC with 39 home runs and first with 152 RBIs. This past season she established two more school records as she finished her career with 214 hits and a .338 batting average.
