PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College softball team (5-24, 3-11) will host BIG EAST opponent Georgetown (22-20, 8-7), on Saturday, April 26 (double header) and Sunday, April 27 (single game) at Raymond Field.

Saturday's game will be the team's Alumni Day, and the 1994 BIG EAST Championship Team will be honored prior to the start of the game. The 1994 team recorded the most wins in school history, with 38, and gained Providence's only BIG EAST Championship and NCAA Tournament bid.

Former Friar player and coach, Jen Finley, will throw out the first pitch with the contest set to begin at noon. Finley was the head coach of the Friars for the 1994 and 1995 seasons and has the highest winning percentage at Providence. Finley graduated from Providence in 1992 and was a standout two-sport athlete who earned Northeast Region All-America honors as a member of both the softball and field hockey teams. Finley returned to Providence in 1994, as the nation's youngest head coach and guided Providence to a school-record 38 wins and it's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

Sunday will be the Friars' Senior Day and seniors Kasey Bulman (Farmingdale, N.J.), Kaitlyn Duval (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and Marie Flego (Little Silver, N.J.) will be honored in a pregame ceremony. The first pitch for Sunday will be at noon.

Sophomore Kiki Baldassari (Denville, N.J.) leads Providence with 31 hits on the year and 10 stolen bases. Junior Kristie Dederick (Camarillo, Calif.) adds 24 hits on the season. The junior hit two home runs last weekend in the series against Villanova. Freshman McKall Miller (Ashburn, Va.) leads the team with 13 RBI and six home runs. Sophomore Danielle Deraney (Shrewsbury, Mass.) leads the team in batting average at .353.

Freshman Taylor Huntly (Las Vegas, Nev.) has made 21 pitching appearances for 113.1 innings and has a 4.37 ERA. She has fanned 59 batters on the year. Sophomore Kiara Amos (Malden, Mass.) has recorded 47 strikeouts in 62.1 innings pitched.

The Hoyas are led by Megan Hyson, who has a .407 batting average to go along with a team-best 48 hits and 32 RBI. Hyson is currently first in the BIG EAST in on-base percentage (.514) and third in batting average and slugging percentage (.703). Elyse Graziano has speed on the base paths with 15 stolen bases (second in the BIG EAST) and boasts a .313 batting average.

Hyson also leads the Georgetown pitching staff with a 2.49 ERA in 149.0 innings pitched. She has struck out 167 batters on the season in 27 appearances. Lauren O'Leary has also seen significant time on the mound, appearing in 25 games (123.0 innings). O'Leary has a 3.81 ERA and 79 strikeouts.
